Creative thinking

Gregory Nash is a creative director, producer and programmer with more than 30 years’ experience in venues, festivals and cultural organisations in the UK and internationally.

He is currently on a year-long sabbatical from British Council where he is Creative Director, based at its London HQ.

At British Council he leads expert advisory teams across six art forms and senior arts specialists in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The programme they create together with arts managers and partners in the British Council's global network reaches 250m people in more than 100 countries each year.

He was previously Director Arts for British Council’s Wider Europe region where, based in Istanbul, he led a team of 25 arts managers and a diverse programme across 15 countries and 11 time zones.

The sabbatical is a rare opportunity to take time away from a senior role in a large organisation to share skills and experience and to learn from the creative sector.

Over the year, Nash is keen to hear from artists and producers, companies, organisations and venues who would like to take some time to explore the way they work, to progress some plans and to nurture international connections.
